AQUATIC HEALTHY JOINTS: This class focuses on each joint in the body, working the range of motion and improving muscle tone. Buoyancy belts or other flotation gear may be used. This class is beneficial for people with arthritis and those recovering from an injury. Minimum 6, Maximum 8
AQUATIC HEALTHY JOINTS: A beginning level class focusing on slow and controlled movement providing full range of motion in major joints and muscles. Especially beneficial for people with arthritis, and those persons recovering from an injury. Minimum 8, Maximum 12
AQUATIC HEALTHY JOINTS ADVANCED: This class focuses on each joint in the body, working the range of motion and improving muscle tone. Buoyancy belts or other flotation gear may be used. This class is recommended for those who have participated in Healthy Joints before. Minimum 4, Maximum 15
AQUATIC PERSONAL TRAINER:
Scheduled around your availability. Work
with a certified personal trainer to develop a workout plan tailored to your
goals and abilities. AQUATIC TAI CHI BEGINNING: An Aquatic Tai Chi class designed for both beginners to learn the movements and advanced to practice the Tai Chi movements. .

Maximum 12 AQUATIC TAI CHI ADVANCED: For our experienced Tai Chi class members, continuing to build on the basic movements.

Maximum 12 AQUATIC CORE STRENGTH TRAINING: This class is designed to build a strong abdomen and back. Toning the body is also a result of this workout. You will move through the water using slight resistance and balance. Come join this fun way to get in shape.
AQUATIC CIRCUIT TRAINING: This class is designed for all fitness levels. It incorporates cardio, body sculpting, and core conditioning in fun and ever changing intervals. An excellent way to both build strength and stamina. Minimum 5, Maximum 30
DEEP WATER TIDAL WAVES: This class is designed for those who want a great workout. Intense cardiovascular conditioning, strengthening, and toning of the major muscle groups, you must be comfortable in the water to sign up for this class. Uses buoyancy belt. Minimum: 6, Maximum: 15
HYDRO POWER & STRENGTH: This class includes all the components of an excellent workout: weight training, cardio conditioning, toning, and stretching. Minimum 5, Maximum 30
LIQUID BOOT CAMP: Wake up with water. Start your day with a high intensity water aerobics class. There will be tons of fun and enough work to get you revved for the whole day.
MAKING WAVES: A complete body workout involving strength, endurance and tone, using various power movements through the water. This class will focus on aerobic and toning techniques using different body positions, tempo and range of motion. Minimum: 5. Maximum 30
OPEN SWIM/LAP SWIM During class times at least one lap lane will be open for swimmers. It may be necessary to share a lane with others. In that case we are using circle swimming, swimming in a counter clockwise direction, you will always swim on the right side of the lane. Please be courteous and share your lane.
PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS: Scheduled around your availability. One on one class with an experienced instructor. In these classes you will develop and increase your swimming skills with specific instructions according to your ability.
SEA SCULPT : This class is designed to be a high intensity workout utilizing rebounding and buoyancy. The class will increase flexibility, burn calories and provide an awesome aerobic conditioning program. Minimum 5, Maximum 30
Silver Dolphin Program at Oakland University Are you interested in swimming laps, practicing your diving skills, or just working out in an Olympic size pool? How about walking or jogging on a large indoor track? Oakland University's Recreation Center is offering it's facilities to those 50+, with a 'Silver Dolphin Membership, for just $3 a visit. To get your 'Silver Dolphin ' card bring a small (1 X 1 1/4) photo and $2, to the clerks office.
THE DEEP: A high intensity water workout utilizing shallow and deep water designed to improve cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength and endurance. You must be comfortable in the water to sign up for this class. Buoyancy belts are used.
WATER WORKS AEROBICS: Join our basic water aerobic class with easy to follow moves. This class will allow you to work at your own ability yet challenge you to improve your physical fitness. Minimum: 12, Maximum 22.
Please note: The Therapy Pool will be closed during Aquatic Healthy Joints and Aquatic Core Strength Training and, Tai Chi. |
