OPC Leisure Travel is open to anyone 50 years and older. A nonresident of the three communities of Rochester, Rochester Hills and Oakland Township does not have to pay the annual OPC nonresident membership fee to travel. However, they will be charged an additional $10 fee for day trips.
An escort serves as a senior advocate and will accompany each trip. The escort is available to make sure the event goes as planned, and to handle problems or emergencies that may arise.
The number of folks traveling on a particular trip, and the location of the venue, will dictate whether a minibus or a motor coach will be used. OPC reserves the right to change the posted mode of transportation at any time.
At times, it is possible to get additional tickets or a larger bus if enough people place their name on a waiting list for a popular trip. However, the additional tickets may not be with the rest of the group and may be farther back in the theatre. OPC will place names on a waiting list, in case someone who already purchased a ticket cannot attend.
Cancellation Deadline and Fee
If you cancel a trip on or prior to the cancellation deadline, you will receive a refund less the posted cancellation fee. After the cancellation deadline, there are no refunds. If possible, please purchase tickets by the cancellation deadline. If there are low ticket sales on that date, the trip may be cancelled.
Transferability and Cancellations
If you purchased a ticket for a day trip and cannot attend after the cancellation deadline, you may sell or give your ticket to another 50+ person, as long as you contact the Leisure Travel Department with the personal information of the new traveler 48 hours prior to trip departure.
- Trips are rarely cancelled. Even if the building is closed, the trips go. In the event that OPC does cancel a trip, you will be notified.
- Transportation, escort and driver tips included on all trips, unless indicated.
- If a trip participant requires a caregiver, the caregiver must be at least 21 years old.
- OPC will comply with the spirit and intent of the Americans with Disabilities Act. We will make reasonable accommodations to assist people with disabilities to access our facility and participate in our programs and services. If you use a wheelchair or need a special accommodation, please indicate at the time of registration and include the nature of the accommodation requested.
