OPC Trip Policy
Participation
OPC Leisure Travel is open to anyone 50 years and older. A nonresident of the three communities of Rochester, Rochester Hills and Oakland Township does not have to pay the annual OPC nonresident membership fee to travel. However, they will be charged an additional $10 fee for day trips.
Escorts
An escort serves as a senior advocate and will accompany each trip. The escort is available to make sure the event goes as planned, and to handle problems or emergencies that may arise.
Transportation
The number of folks traveling on a particular trip, and the location of the venue, will dictate whether a minibus or a motor coach will be used. OPC reserves the right to change the posted mode of transportation at any time.
Waiting List
At times, it may be possible to get additional tickets or a larger bus if enough people place their name on a waiting list for a popular trip or if someone cancels prior to the cancellation deadline, they can be contacted if a ticket is available.
Cancellation Deadline and Fee
If you cancel a trip on or prior to the cancellation deadline, you will receive a refund less the posted cancellation fee. After the cancellation deadline, there are no refunds. If possible, please purchase tickets by the cancellation deadline. If there are low ticket sales on that date, the trip may be cancelled.
Transferability and Cancellations
If you purchased a ticket for a day trip and cannot attend after the cancellation deadline, you may sell or give your ticket to another 50+ person, as long as you contact the Leisure Travel Department with the personal information of the new traveler 48 hours prior to trip departure.
